This month's guests at Catzmuzik take us on a deeper, darker techno vibe...

ABE DUQUE
With his new compilation LIVE AND ON ACID almost out, the man XLR8R magazine called the "acid-house/techno don" and who ResidentAdvisor called a "techno pioneer" is bringing underground techno and acid house to the mainstream. With a career that's included a residency in the first early days of the Limelight NYC, becoming one of the first live techno acts to seriously tour, and a period in hiding where he still managed to have a smash underground hit with "What Happened?" despite only releasing his records on oblique, hand-stamped anonymous white label 12"s - let's just say that Abe Duque makes a habit of keeping the fans guessing.

This year, having just decimated Fabric with his live set, he's now releasing his first ever career retrospective. It's a 2CD compilation, LIVE AND ON ACID, that ranges freely back and forth between new, unreleased tracks and old-school classics - each chosen, he says, because they fulfill that acid template of having a looseness and a screw-you kind of mayhem in their production.

This is the third time Abe's played live at Egg - and each time he's left a dancing audience gasping for air and asking "What the fuck was that...?"

TOMMY FOUR SEVEN
And then there's the UK's contribution to the European sound, Tommy Four Seven. Now resident in Berlin - and with his Berghain debut the week after this gig at Egg - Tommy Four Seven got his start in London but he's now truly international, taking his darker, moody sound round the world for CLR Records and releasing on labels from CLR to Wolfskull to Process Recordings to his own label, Shooting Elvis. Now his first artist album is on the way, but in the meantime T47 plans to take an evening in London to show how how truly dark and European music can be...

PLUS SUPPORT FROM OUR RESIDENTS Big Daddy, Dan Cat and Anglo Franko.
